THE WORK

Rarely do I approach my work with a perceived outcome… the art work evolves as I make it, with each move informing and influencing the next, often with surprising results. Color and composition are the tools of my expression, and I hope that the work can evoke a visceral experience for those who interact with it. I am ultimately striving to create something beautiful… pulling inspiration from landscapes and nature, art, architecture, photography, travel and other forms of creative expression. Using my hands and working closely with the material has always been an important part of the work.

The art work has evolved over time and after recently taking an inspiring and intensive glass art work shop with the renowned Australian glass artist Jessica Loughlin, my work has expanded into glass arts. The workshop, titled, “Mastering Simplicity” was about distilling down our ideas into simple, clean and striking works while utilizing the amazing properties of glass. Art glass has a striking ability to play with light in dynamic and interesting ways, bringing to life color and composition in a vibrant and compelling way. My most recent series of work is a collection of 12” diameter round glass art wall panels created by cutting and fusing art glass together in a kiln, and then in some cases cold working the glass to the proper finish.

I am currently taking commission work, custom design requests, and open to discuss any creative art project ideas you might have. I can be contacted directly by clicking on the ‘contact’ link at the bottom of this website
